Eric V. Sechman, AIF
Eric Sechman has been helping families and individuals build financial clarity and confidence since 2008. After gaining experience at a large financial services firm early in his career, he joined the family practice—originally founded by his father—and eventually became its sole advisor when his father retired in 2022. For Eric, continuing the firm’s legacy is more than a professional transition; it’s an extension of the deep relationships his family has built with clients across generations.
Eric holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation and is currently pursuing the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certification. His path into finance is uniquely shaped by his academic background—he earned his Ph.D. in Microbiology from Northwestern University. That scientific discipline translates into his work every day: methodical planning, careful analysis, and a commitment to evidence-based decision-making. Clients often describe him as thorough, diligent, and quietly detail-oriented, yet warm and approachable.
Relationship-building is at the center of Eric’s philosophy. He believes the most meaningful financial planning work grows out of real, long-lasting personal connections. Many of his clients have known him since he was young, and those relationships now extend into entirely new generations. Eric invests in understanding each client’s goals, family dynamics, and life events, creating an environment where conversations feel as comfortable as sitting at a friend’s kitchen table. It’s not uncommon for meetings to take place over dinner, or to shift naturally into stories about kids, travels, sports, or shared life experiences.
This personal, human approach shapes how Eric communicates and how he wants his firm to be experienced—online and in person. He aims for the website to reflect this balance: professional and modern, but never distant or corporate; comprehensive in its services, but easy to navigate; warm, welcoming, and unmistakably personal.
Eric serves clients across Massachusetts and beyond, working with people who want a long-term partner to help navigate college planning, retirement, investing, and life’s financial transitions. Though based in Ayer, MA, he routinely meets with clients regardless of where life has taken them—locally or out of state—through calls, virtual meetings, and flexible scheduling.
He is a licensed insurance producer in MA and CT and a registered representative for investments in MA, NH, CT, and AL through Cambridge Investment Research, LLC, member FINRA/SIPC.
Outside of work, Eric lives in Ayer with his wife, Samantha, and their three children: Samuel, who is currently attending the University of Toronto, Ronald, who is currently attending Purdue University, and Adrian. When he’s not meeting with clients or studying for the CFP®, you’ll find him exercising, reading, watching documentaries, or cheering on Liverpool FC with characteristic Northeast sportspassion. He is also involved in his local community, serving on the Finance Committee in Ayer.
For Eric, financial planning is not simply about charts, markets, or portfolios—it’s about walking alongside people through every stage of life, building trust, and helping them feel secure, prepared, and supported. That’s what he loves most about his work, and why so many clients see him not just as an advisor, but as a steady, long-term presence in their lives.
